Our products are made from environmentally friendly materials whenever possible. We use Post-Industrial and Post-Consumer concrete as an aggregate in our products at the customer's request. The replacement of Portland cement with fly ash also reduces the greenhouse gas signature of our concrete. Our Phoenix Concrete, for example, is possibly the most environmentally friendly concrete available. Sustainable design is a key feature of our workshops for kitchen designers, builders and architects. Oversize projects often require a team effort that spans many disciplines. Alpha Stone Concrete can use cabinet data from a kitchen designer's 20/20 or other design software to flesh out a design and show a variety of countertop options. Total thermal mass and composition of recycled materials can be calculated for LEED or other green building certifications.

Concrete Countertops

Our flagship product is Concrete Countertops. Concrete is the ancient material that will give your kitchen or bath a custom look. Any size, any shape or any color is the mantra of the craftsmen of alpha stone concrete. A concrete countertop is often the only custom element in a kitchen or bath and becomes the focal point of the design. A concrete counter will often appear more massive than other solid surfaces. One and a half inches is the standard thickness of our counters but, they are common in two inches and thicker as well. An Alpha Stone Concrete countertop will last a lifetime of use while growing more beautiful over the years.
Acid Stained Concrete Countertops and Floors

Subtle earth tones like tans, terra cotta, browns, and blueish-greens are transforming the appearance of finished concrete almost everywhere you go. The otherwise drab perception of concrete takes on individualized character with the choice of color and method of application. Even the most complicated designs, once assumed the sole realm of mosaic tile or multiple cuts of stone, are now easily and beautifully realized with acid-etching techniques. Curves and unusual design elements are equally within reach. By nature, concrete’s neutral tone and porous qualities make it a perfect canvas for staining. Stenciling and ReverseStencil ® etching can all create dramatic effects both before and after staining is applied, further personalizing your project. Acid Washing your floor will transform an ordinary concrete slab into a wall to wall work of art as well as an efficient thermal mass. Radiant heat is most efficient when no insulating floor coverings are used. Acid Washing will etch a colored pattern into the surface of the concrete and provide a beautiful alternative to carpet or rugs in your home or business. Acid staining can be used indoors or outdoors, on projects new or old. The unique characteristics of the original concrete mixture, additives utilized, finishing methods employed, age of finished concrete, and moisture content as the staining is applied will all factor in to the resulting colorization. Outdoor acid-etching results may continue to change long after the process is complete due to exposure to sun and moisture.
Concrete Sinks and Vessels

The versatility of concrete brings a whole new approach to stylizing sinks, washbasins, and vessels. Whether in a washroom or in the kitchen, the flexibility of shape and drainage options allows for the greatest amount of creativity in planning. Popular options are oval, square, rectangular, or round sinks, but many more options are possible depending on how the sink will blend with other design elements such as faucet fixtures, lighting, and surrounding decor. A concrete sink can have a smooth, polished look or a distinctive sculpted edge. Concrete sinks can be mounted to a wall with hidden hardware to produce a floating effect. A concrete sink can be formed to fit into a corner or irregular shaped space. Concrete Sinks can be supported with stanchion walls to make a complete concrete wash area.
Large concrete farm sinks bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary. Designers can express themselves with a large pallet of colors and textures other than the traditional soapstone. Because each piece is a custom work of art, the designer is not limited by size or shape when interpreting traditional themes or creating new ones.

Concrete Fireplace Surrounds

Visually and socially, the fireplace serves as a focal gathering point in a home. Accentuate the soothing flicker of the flame with a stunning customized surround for your fireplace inlay. Natural heat retention properties of concrete combined with its ability to mold to any style make it an excellent choice for a mantle or surround. With styles ranging from classic Victorian to contemporary geometry, your personal preference can easily take form. Consider embedding tiles, colored stones, or designing colorization patterns that will set the tone for the whole room. Molding of any style can be cast as well to create the exact look and feel that will complete your gathering space.
Gas fireplace inserts have become very popular due to their energy efficiency and convenience.

Concrete Color Consulting

Large, poured on site concrete projects often need a little help to express their true potential for beauty. Adding the right amount of pigments can transform a concrete structure from grey to a vibrant color that complements the overall design.
Green and yellow powered pigments were used in this Seagreen pigmented concrete slab.
Bare, pigmented concrete floors and large concrete objects are increasingly becoming an integral part of green building design as they contribute to the overall thermal mass of building. For example, for a building, when outside temperatures are fluctuating throughout the day, a large thermal mass within the insulated portion of the house can serve to 'flatten out' the daily temperature fluctuations. Alpha Stone Concrete provides color matching and selecting from paint swatches, building materials or just about any object. We provide concrete contractors with measured pigments and instructions for the project. Our showroom is often the first stop in the color selection portion of the design phase. Alpha Stone Concrete can provide a sample of custom colored concrete as well as hundreds of samples to choose from.
